Why the Zone Exists

Up to 90,000 people. That's Wembley Stadium's capacity. The Wembley Stadium Event Day Protective Parking Scheme keeps the surrounding streets free for the people who live and work in them.

When Restrictions Apply

Hours vary by street. These are Brent Council's published hours, checked on 25 September 2026:

Restrictions stack. Some bus lanes and Controlled Parking Zones start earlier than the event day hours and apply on other days too. An event day restriction sits on top of whatever already applies to a street; it doesn't replace it.

The street's own signs apply. Read them for the spot you're parked in. Brent Council's restrictions page (opens in a new tab) has the hours, and a link to check whether you're in the zone.

Does This Apply on OVO Arena Nights?

No. An Arena-only night is not a Wembley Event Day.

What Brent says. Its page applies the restrictions "on Wembley Stadium event days". The traffic orders behind them, The Brent (Wembley Stadium Area) Orders of 2012, were published under the notice heading "Wembley Stadium Events".

Brent's list. Brent's list of Wembley Event Days (opens in a new tab) is made up of Stadium concerts and fixtures, and no Arena-only date appears on it.

The crowd is what changes. Up to 12,500 people come and go between Wembley Park station and the Arena, so the platforms and Olympic Way are busier. The parking rules on your street don't change.

Permits

For people with a reason to be in the zone. Brent sells four, all through RingGo:

• Resident Permit
• Visitor Permit, bought by residents for their own visitors
• Business Permit
• Place of worship or school permit, for those institutions in the zone

Going to an event? None of these is for you. Take public transport, or book an official car park.

Blue Badge and Disabled Parking

Two situations, two answers. If you live in the zone, the route is a free Resident Blue Badge Permit. If you're going to an event, it's a pre-booked accessible space in an official car park. Neither is the same as parking on a residential street under the ordinary Blue Badge rules.

If You Live in the Zone

A free permit through RingGo. Brent issues a Resident Blue Badge Permit. With it, you don't need to display your Blue Badge in resident, permit-only and disabled bays.

Anywhere else, the badge still has to be displayed. That includes a single yellow line. In Brent's words, "This permit does not replace your Blue Badge."

Only twelve zones qualify. Inside the event day zone, the rule is narrower than in the rest of Brent. You qualify only if you live in one of these shared parking bay zones:

Applications are processed within 14 days.

Two of the twelve run different hours. Zone SA is restricted from 10am rather than 8am. Zone T is restricted 24 hours a day, every day, not only on event days. The other ten follow the standard 8am to midnight.

If You're Going to an Event

Accessible bays in the Blue and Red car parks. They're the two nearest the Stadium and the Arena, at a reduced per-vehicle rate for car-sized vehicles.

Pre-booked, not free. You buy them through Wembley Official Parking, and they sell out for large events, so book ahead.

Wembley Park's Official Car Parks

Five colour-coded car parks. Wembley Park runs them around the two venues. They're the only official option you can book for driving to an event.

Prices. Pink is the only one with published prices: from £2.50 for the first hour outside event days, and from £16.25 for an Arena event or £40 for a Stadium event booked ahead, plus a £2.50 booking fee. The others price each event separately, and not every car park opens for every event.

Book ahead. Spaces sell out for large events.

Not a way around the permit zone. These are separate, paid, off-street car parks, and they don't change the street restrictions above.

Penalty Charges

London-wide amounts. London Councils' Transport and Environment Committee sets them and the Mayor of London approves them, so they're not Wembley-specific. They took effect on 7 April 2025, and we checked them against Brent Council on 25 September 2026.

Removal. On a Wembley Event Day your car can also be removed, and the pound charges £55 a day once it has been there over 24 hours. Our tickets guide covers challenging a ticket and getting a car back.

Private and Unadopted Roads

Not enforced by the council. Brent enforces the event day restrictions only on the public highway, so a private or unadopted road carries no council ticket. Residents of one can still buy a Resident Permit to park on enforced streets in the zone.

Motorcycles

No permit needed. Motorcycles park free and with no time limit, unless the bay is suspended. The bay's own signs set the rules.
